The Healing Ikigai
Inspired by the wisdom of the Ikigai model, at MomentousRise, I created ‘The Healing Ikigai’ a survivor-centered version for those reclaiming identity after narcissistic abuse. It’s not about going back to who you were… it’s about growing into who you were always meant to be. Healing, purpose, and peace can coexist. This framework helps you find them.

Traditional Ikigai helps identify one’s purpose by exploring:
- What you love
- What you’re good at
- What the world needs
- What you can be paid for
For survivors of narcissistic abuse, these questions can be reframed to focus on healing:
What brings you peace?
Activities or environments where you feel safe and calm.
What helps you heal?
Practices, tools or support systems that support your recovery journey
What reconnects you to your true self?
Passions or hobbies that make you feel authentic and alive
What allows you to support yourself sustainably?
Work or pursuits that align with your well-being and values
At the intersection of these elements lies your Healing Ikigai, a personalized path to rediscovering joy, purpose, and self-worth
